Revised Church Mission Statement
Our Church Council approved this revised mission statement at our September 21 meeting. We added values of fellowship and social justice.
Our mission statement now reads:
The mission of Fairwood Community United Methodist Church is to build community through Christian faith, fellowship, service, and social justice where all belong.
All Church Conference - Nov 4th 3pm
Saturday, November 4 is our annual All-Church Conference. This is our annual business meeting with our district superintendent and our entire church family is invited. Our D.S., Rev. What will we do?
• Learn more about our Area-wide M.I.L.E. initiative
• Elect our 2024 church leaders
• Approve our pastor’s salary and do other business such as review our membership report
• Review and evaluate the ministry of FCUMC
Youth choir starts Oct 1st 11:15-11:50 in choir room
Youth in grade 5 through high school are invited to sing in YOUTH choir. Rehearsals start on Sunday, October 1st, after Sunday School and illumin8 classes. Meet in the choir room at 11:15am until about 11:50am.
We will be learning new songs and some favorites to sing in church worship services and teach to the congregation. We will also help lead a special Christmas Eve service. Come bring your friends and make a joyful noise! For more information or questions contact Bill or Lori McEwen.
Blessing of the Animals Sunday Oct 22nd 11:30am
Everyone is invited to a short outdoor Blessing of the Animals service after the
regular Sunday worship service on Sunday, October 22nd. We dedicate this event to
Linda Kopp who loved animals. So that people can go home to get their pets, we’ll
start at 11:30am out in the front parking lot.
Bring your pet or bring a picture of your pet to be blessed by Pastor Ferdie. Invite
your neighbors and friends with pets! You don’t need to have a pet to enjoy this
service.
We’ll have a memorial table for our blessed pets of the past. Consider bringing a
picture of pets you’ve loved and include their names on the back for us to see.
Consider donating pet foods (until November 18).
Blessing of the Animals is traditionally done around the Feast of St. Francis and
often with Earth Ministry greening congregations.
