Ash Wednesday, Feb 14th morning 6-9am, Evening Program 7pm
Ash Wednesday starts the Lenten season, a time of reflection and preparation
leading up to Holy Week and Easter. This year, Ash Wednesday is February 14th.
(Yes, Valentine’s Day!) We’ll have a couple opportunities to observe the start of
Lent.
Early risers can drive up to the church entrance between 6:00am and 9:00am and
receive an Imposition of Ashes (the mark of The Cross) from your car. You can also
park and step into the church to light a candle and pray for peace.
For folks who wish to spend a contemplative time with others, there will be a short
service in the Sanctuary (and livestreamed) at 7:00pm.
Join Youth Choir
Youth in grade 5 through high school are invited to sing in YOUTH choir. Meet in
the choir room for practices on Sundays at 11:15am until about 11:50am. We plan
to sing in worship (with the adult choir) on Sunday, February 11th.
We will be learning some new contemporary songs as well as singing some of our
favorites. Come bring your friends and make a joyful noise! For more information
or questions contact Bill or Lori McEwen
UWF food and donations for Vine Maple Place "meal in a bag" ministry
The United Women in Faith’s current mission project is to assemble “meals-in-abag”
for Vine Maple Place’s food ministry. The vision of Vine Maple Place is to end
family homelessness in South King County. They have locations in Maple Valley and
Kent.
A Meal-in-a-Bag gives a mom all the necessary ingredients she needs to make a
home cooked meal. Each bag has a specific recipe and the ingredients for that
meal. These meals provide not only stability and a chance for a family to connect
around the dinner table, but they also assist in helping a family stretch their food
budget.
We’ll assemble the bags at our February 8th meeting, 10:00am in the parlor.

Holy Communion Today
If you’re online with us today and wish to participate in Holy Communion, have
some sort of bread and juice ready for later in the worship service. All are welcome
to the table.
