Unwrap: Waking Up
Here are 3 ideas, 2 quotes, and one question from last Sunday’s sermon, “Unwrap.” The ideas presented, lean more towards how you can support the “metamorphosis” of people around you.
FIRST IDEA: RELY ON THE SLOW WORK OF GOD
We wish for someone’s fast recovery, quick maturity, or instant awakening. But growth is a unique process for everyone. Everyone has a different starting point. Don’t let go of the belief that God is still at work in the lives of people around you.
SECOND IDEA: REMOVE THE STONE FOR SOMEONE
This idea is taken from the story where Jesus commanded the crowd to remove the stone prior resurrecting Lazarus. It’s not our job to conduct a resurrection event. But what does it mean to “remove the stone” for someone to support their metamorphosis journey?
THIRD IDEA: REINFORCE GOD’S INTETION
Jesus shouted to Lazarus, “come out!” Which echoes Jesus’ practice of calling people from what is holding them back so they can embody their resurrection or butterfly selves. This week, be more intentional of encouraging someone by affirming God’s intention for them.
2 QUOTES
“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care” (Theodore Roosevelt).
“Power of empathy: I’m in with you. I’m not here to fix you. I’m not here to feel it for you. I’m here to feel with you and let you know you’re not alone” (Brene Brown).
1 QUESTION
