Qualified Charitable Donations
Did you know? If you are 73 or older in 2024, you can save on income taxes by
donating the full or a partial amount of your RMD (Required Minimum Distribution),
up to a limit of $105,000, to a qualified charity directly from your IRA and that
amount would not be taxable. These contributions are called qualified charitable
contributions or QCD’s.
Please join us immediately after the worship service on Sunday, November 17th, in
room M-7 (across from the bathrooms in the sanctuary building) for about 20
minutes to learn more about QCD’s and RMD’s from Ed H.

Stewardship - Planning for our 2025 church budget is underway
Planning for our 2025 church budget is underway. We rely on your estimate of
giving (pledge) to determine what income we might expect. The 2025 pledge cards
were sent via the U.S. Postal Service last week.
Online pledge cards are another option at https://fairwoodumc.org/pledge-card/
Please contact Jennifer F. with any questions or feedback
UWF Quilt/Craft second chance sale!
The United Women in Faith here at Fairwood offered many beautiful quilts, creative crafts, and yummy baked goods for sale last Sunday.
Thanks to all the quilt-makers, craft-makers, goodie bakers and shoppers! The proceeds of over $3,200 will benefit local and UWF organizations supporting families and children.
Quilts and crafts will be for sale after worship on Sunday, November 10 for one last chance. Look for a link (in the November Epistle newsletter) to the items still available. You can reserve an item for you.
UMCOR - Donations always welcome
UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) responds to natural or civil disasters of such magnitude that they overwhelm a community’s ability to recover on its own. Through UMCOR, United Methodists extend loving care to people affected by hurricanes or other disasters.
In response to Hurricanes Helene and Milton devastation, UMCOR is coordinating with affected annual conferences and supporting their local relief efforts. So far, UMCOR has awarded grants to the North Georgia, South Georgia, Western North Carolina and Holston annual conferences. Additionally, UMCOR-trained Early Response Teams (ERTs) are coordinating efforts to support the removal of debris, tarping of roofs, and cleaning out of homes in hard-hit areas.
You can still contribute to UMCOR hurricane relief efforts.
Donate through online giving at our https://fairwoodumc.org/give/ page with the tile for UMCOR
You may also donate with check or cash; just make sure to label it for UMCOR hurricane relief.
