The Worship Committee received feedback that generated thoughtful consideration
at two or our recent meetings. We hope to offer the prelude music as a more
meaningful element of the worship experience by connecting it to the Call to
Worship.
So, effective September 28, the start of our worship services will be:
Immediately after the countdown time (i.e. 10:00), the Lay Reader will welcome
worshippers, offer any verbal announcements, then invite the congregation to Pass
the Peace of Christ. Then we’ll move into the Prelude with the light of Christ and
the pastor entering the sanctuary. Following the Prelude, we’ll then share in the
Call to Worship.
Another change we’re making is to present any Mission Moment after the offering.
The offering is our time to respond to God with our gifts, gifts of money and our
time and prayers. This puts the Mission Moment in the context of offering ourselves
as our response to God’s gifts to us.
We welcome any feedback. Please contact our worship leaders with any feedback
for our worship experiences at FCUMC!

UWF Annual Quilt, Bake & Craft Sale!!!
Start thinking of what to bake, make or quilt for our annual UWF Quilt, Bake &
Craft sale happening on October 5th . Your generous donations will go to our
missions benefitting local homeless women and children.

Garden Sharing Table for Flowers & Produce
Share and bring your flowers or produce from your garden to church!
Place them on the table in the patio with a note saying who they are from.
Greening will have table setup every Sunday through September or as long as folks
are sharing.

The women’s book club starts this month. We meet 7:00 pm most every 4th
Thursday of each month, in-person at BH – 2 or online via zoom.
This month we are going to discuss ideas in The Women by Kristin Hannah, on
Thursday, Sept. 25.

We are excited to start Youth Choir practices on Sunday, Sep. 14th after church in
the choir room (11:15-11:50).
All 5th – 12th grade youth are invited to join us each Sunday! We enjoy singing
some favorite songs and learning contemporary songs. We look forward to seeing
some familiar faces and new faces as we start a new choir season.
We sing in church about once a month and look forward to providing all the music
at the afternoon Christmas Eve service.
