Joyful Hearts Preschool, a ministry of Fairwood United Methodist Church, is an inclusive, Montessori-inspired program. We are play-based, meaning our day begins with student-led choice in a specially prepared environment. The arrangement of our classroom invites students to interact organically with the extensive materials and manipulatives. We encourage student independence as well as peer collaboration and believe these ignite creativity and learning.
Beyond supporting strong cognitive development, Joyful Hearts provides children with the social and emotional nurturance needed to grow into kindergarten. Learning to resolve conflict, developing healthy friendships, showing respect for others and their well-being, and recognizing both verbal and nonverbal communication cues are essential skills that go beyond the classroom walls.
