UWF Annual Quilt, Bake & Craft Sale!!!
Start thinking of what to bake, make or quilt for our annual UWF Quilt, Bake &
Craft sale happening on October 5th . Your generous donations will go to our
missions benefitting local homeless women and children.

UWF Meeting date changed:
Date: WEDNESDAY, September 10th
Time: 10am – 12pm
Where: Parlor
Lots to do: Prepare items for the Quilt Craft and Bake Sale. Measure, price and tag quilts,
and any other craft items that have been submitted.
And of course, just have fun and enjoy each other’s company!!! We will be serving
refreshments.

Garden Sharing Table for Flowers & Produce
Share and bring your flowers or produce from your garden to church!
Place them on the table in the patio with a note saying who they are from.
Greening will have table setup every Sunday through September or as long as folks
are sharing.

All are invited to study the ideas presented in “The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness
in a Changing World.” Pastor Cathy will guide us in the Tuesday study, starting
September 9, 9:30 – 11:00am, in the church parlor or online via Zoom. The book is
available in numerous places and formats.
The two Nobel Peace Prize winners shared a week together on the occasion of His
Holiness’s 80th birthday in 2015. Through their conversations, guided by author
Douglas Abrams, they share stories, teachings, and practical wisdom on living a
joyful life amidst adversity.
Just one quote: “Joy is the reward, really, of seeking to give joy to others. When
you show compassion, when you show caring, when you show love to others, do
things for others, in a wonderful way you have a deep joy that you can get in no
other way.” – the Dalai Lama

Youth group kicks off Sunday, September 7 with an ice cream social, 4:00 – 6:00pm at church.
Parents are invited to stay to learn what to expect this coming year. And to fill out necessary forms!

Sunday 12/14: Youth Group Christmas Party! 4:00 – 6:00 at church

We are excited to start Youth Choir practices on Sunday, Sep. 14th after church in
the choir room (11:15-11:50).
All 5th – 12th grade youth are invited to join us each Sunday! We enjoy singing
some favorite songs and learning contemporary songs. We look forward to seeing
some familiar faces and new faces as we start a new choir season.
We sing in church about once a month and look forward to providing all the music
at the afternoon Christmas Eve service.
