Blessing of the Animals - Sunday Oct 11h 11:30am
All are invited to a fun blessing of all God’s animals of the world. You don’t need a pet to enjoy this service. Invite your friends, neighbors, and relatives!
Bring your pet, a picture of pet, cell phone pic, or name of pet to be blessed by Pastor Cathy. Pets receive a certificate and treats! The service will be held outside near the main doors to the sanctuary building.
We’ll also have a memorial table- bring names or pictures of past beloved pets.
“Blessing of the Animals” is traditionally done in October near the Feast of St Francis. St Francis is the “Patron Saint of Animals.”

World Communion Sunday -Today, October 4th
The first Sunday in October is World Communion Sunday. United Methodist congregations join many Christian churches across the globe for this celebration of unity among churches across denominations.
Your donations for the UMC special offering will support racial and ethnic students with scholarships, grants, mentoring and training for leadership development.
Half of the offering benefits World Communion scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students from the U.S. and other countries. The remainder provides grants to support training for worldwide inclusion, diversity, equity, and access.
Special offering envelopes will be available for in-person giving. Checks should include “World Communion Sunday” on the memo line. Online donations may be made via Vanco on our Give page on the church website (visit fairwoodumc.org/give or scan the QR code above).
If you’re online with us today and wish to participate in Holy Communion, have some sort of bread and juice ready for later in the worship service. All are welcome to the table.
