Come hear about Allayna Farmer's recent work in the West Bank!
Allayna Farmer, one of our former youth who went on several FCUMC youth
mission trips, travelled with others to the West Bank in November. Their goal
was to create a bridge between Americans and Palestinians, in the hopes that
American advocates can assist in generating aid and compassion in the United
States.
She began her Master of Social Work at La Salle University in Philadelphia this
past January. Allayna expresses gratitude to Fairwood for igniting the light of
service work on a global scale.
Allayna will not be able to be here in Fairwood, so she’ll present what she
learned over Zoom. Join us after worship on Sunday, January 4th.
We’ll meet about 11:30am in a hybrid gathering (in-person or on Zoom) to
hear from Allayna.
If you come in person, meet in Benedict Hall, classroom 2 (on the left as you
go down the hallway past the drinking fountain. If you want the Zoom link,
contact Donna Stock.
Christmas Eve Services Request
On Christmas Eve, if you are able, please park in the back to leave more parking
spaces for our visitors.
Also if it is possible, please sit near the front of the church to leave room for our visitors and latecomers. Thank you!
Christmas Eve Offering
This year’s Christmas Eve Offering will be supporting our Community Assistance
Program (CAP). They help in preventing our neighbors to be evicted, stop their
water/heater shut-off and other immediate needs to help them get through their
hard times.
Thank you so much for your generous support.
Donations
Donate your extra Holiday cars and 2026 Calendars!
Place them in our Food Bank shopping cart located in the Narthex next to the
nursery.
Pledge Card Update
Jennifer Flagel shared a mission moment on November 23rd about stewardship as
an act of faithful participation and resilient hope. Today, Sunday, December 14th, is
the last Sunday prior to our FCUMC Council meeting to set our 2026 budget. Your
pledges help us determine what missions our church can support next year.
Pledges are welcome at any time, but we hope to set a reasonable budget this
week.
We have received $300,525 in pledges as of December 7th, which is 75% towards
our goal of $400,000. If you haven't submitted your pledge, please prayerfully
consider what you can contribute to support our church. Pledge cards are in the
wall brochure and communications holder between the sanctuary and the doors out
to the patio (i.e. left side of the sanctuary) or an online form is available at
https://fairwoodumc.org/pledge-card. Thank you for your gifts!
Questions? Contact Jennifer at stewardship@fairwoodumc.org.
New Member Sunday is January 11, 2026
We are so grateful to recently receive our new members. If you are considering
membership, the next date we’ll receive new members is Sunday, January 11.
Membership orientation will be held after worship on Sunday, December 14 at
11:30am in BH-2 (Classroom 2 of Benedict Hall, left-hand side in hallway).
If you are curious or if you have questions about membership, please contact
Pastor Ferdie at pastorferdie@fairwoodumc.org. Look for the brochure and other
information in the narthex on the wall holder of brochures, as you move from the
narthex to the bathrooms. It’s called “So you’re thinking about joining the Church.”
A decision for membership is always a great time to celebrate our life together as a
thriving church family!
